Scottish National Poetry Slam
Exciting times at Literature Society. Not only do we have a new committee, but we are hosting the Scottish National Poetry Slam Championships!!! The slam winners from across Scotland will pitch word against word in the Pleasance Cabaret bar on the 28th of March. At the end of the night we shall have our CHAMPION. See you there: Doors 7.30pm Poetry 8pm.

SLAM

A Taste of Honey
We’re planning a trip to see Shelagh Delaney’s A Taste of Honey on this Thursday (31st). Man Booker Prize
Come find us in the Lounge Bar: The Man Booker Prize will be announced on 16 October. We’re going to have a wee chat about it that evening. So do feel free to drop by and grab a pint with us and unwind, celebrate and discuss the award and just stuff in general. This is going to be a light, easy-going social for everybody.
Literary Brunch
Join us this Sunday in the Teviot dining hall to relax with pastries and an audiobook. This week we are listening to the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Knit Soc will be there to teach us their woolly ways. Their may even be pumpkin carving. We’ll be there from 12!
Dead Poets Ceilidh
We will be selling tickets for our joint Halloween ceilidh with PublishED all this week. Catch us in the library cafe to get you tickets. National Poetry Day- Angus Peter Campbell
Thursday is National Poetry day! We’re celebrating down at the caberet bar with Gaelic poet Angus Peter Campbell and music from Folk Soc. Doors open at 7.30pm, expect readings from Angus’ works and fine fiddles with your drink.
