James Robertson
Thurs 17th Nov - Doors open 7:30pm - Pleasance Cabaret Bar - Free & unticketed
We are lucky enough to have acclaimed Scottish author, poet, and Edinburgh Uni alumnus, James Robertson, author of And the Land Lay Still (2010 ‘Scottish Book of the Year’) and The Testament of Gideon Mack (Booker Prize Longlisted 2006), in conversation with the department’s own Dr Martin Philip, who is currently working on an article exploring a postcolonial, ecocritical interpretation of James Robertson.

“A panoramic, illuminating and compassionate portrait of a turbulent and confused era, the book represents nothing less than a landmark for the novel in Scotland, and underlines the author’s position as one of Britain’s best contemporary novelists.”
